So Close!
I'm almost finished. Almost, being the operative word. Only 5 half-days and 6 assignments to go. "I think I can . . . I think I can . . ."

It Happened
As most of you already know, Michael and I are "finally" engaged. We've been getting a million "it's about time" and "finally" comments since we made it official Thanksgiving night. And they're right. Michael, it's about time! :) I've only been waiting close to six years for Michael and I to be married and it is well on it's way!
If you didn't know, Michael and I met second semester of our sophomore year in Brother Heywood's 5th period seminary class. He sat behind me. I spent more time turned around in my desk, trying to think of conversation starters than I did facing the front of the room. Time passed and I don't think Michael noticed me much. Oh, well. We were thrown together at odd moments over the next 3 years. We were in a driving group for driver's ed for an afternoon, we had a class together once in a while. Pretty soon, I lost my fascination with him. But it came back. With a vengeance.
I went to the University of Utah. He did, too. Both of us felt extremely outnumbered and alone on that huge campus. One day, we ran into each other on the corner of the Business Loop and South Campus Drive. We gave each other a hug and I made him join my institute class. Slowly, over a couple of months, I started to kind of like him again. And then I really liked him. He was oblivious (of course I didn't tell him) and shortly left on his mission.
I wrote. He wrote. It was great. Shortly before he returned after a successful service in the field, we decided that maybe we should date. Just hours after he stepped off the plane, we had our first date. It was great. And things just got better from there.
So, on our first Thanksgiving together, we found ourselves on Temple Square. I had the brilliant idea of making a wish and pulled out two pennies to throw into a fountain. After we tossed the pennies in, I told Michael that my wish was just to have him. So, he got down on one knee and said "My wish is that you'll marry me. Megan Diana Hinckley, will you marry me?"

YES YES YES!
And now, we're getting married. May 12, 2010. Mark your calendars, because we want you to celebrate with us that evening. More to come!

Family Time
It's the holidays. We spend a lot of time with our families during the holidays. Because of that, we often will have our family photos taken around Thanksgiving time. This year, we had a lot of fun over at the local elementary school playground. I've had a lot of fun editing in Photoshop Elements. I'm having a hard time choosing which one to use for our yearly Christmas card. Which one do you like best?

Time Machine
Sometimes I feel like I stepped inside a time machine and sent myself a week or two weeks into the future. Like today, while I was sitting in my once-a-week classes I thought to myself, "wasn't I just sitting here, like yesterday?"

Funny thing is, however, that I am so nearly burned out that I can't remember what I did past yesterday. Odd. Hope your day has been awesome, like mine.

Weekend News
What a great weekend! I got a bit of school stuff done so now I am truly on the home stretch for the semester. Eleven days until Winter Break. Yay!
Saturday, I went shopping for a few things that are white. Okay, maybe just one thing. Tried on a bunch. Loved some. Didn't love other. Bought one at the perfect price. Love it!
We went to see Julie & Julia. I really liked it but I'm not quite sure why. Maybe it's because Julie is a mirror image of myself, someone who worked in customer service, starts a bunch of things she never finishes, has breakdowns in the middle of the kitchen, has a fierce passion for cooking. Something like that.

After that, Michael and I went for a walk around temple square. It was cold. It was late. But there was nowhere I would rather be. I love you, Erickson!

Wishes Really Do Come True
At school with 20 of my best friends we often talk about what we want for Christmas. And all of us have agreed that it is super easy to buy us gifts this year. Know why? Because each of us has a 5 page wishlist on Amazon.com of things we've seen and want for our classrooms come next fall. So, if you know one of us cohort-ies and want to buy us a gift, you now know exactly where to go.
I love Amazon.com.
But, there's something else I asked Santa for for Christmas. And I think I might just get it. :)
